High-Pressure Water Jetting

High-pressure water jetting is the most effective way to clear stubborn drain blockages and restore full flow. Draincore provides professional jetting for domestic and commercial customers across Essex and Suffolk.

What is high-pressure water jetting?

High-pressure water jetting uses a powerful jet of water delivered through a specialist nozzle to break up and flush away blockages, grease, silt and debris from inside drainage pipes.

Unlike drain rods, which can push a blockage further along the pipe, water jetting clears the full bore of the pipe and removes the build-up that causes recurring problems. It is safe for most types of drainage pipework when carried out by a trained engineer.

Signs you may need water jetting

  • Drains that are slow despite previous attempts to clear them
  • Blockages that return within a short period
  • Persistent bad smells from drains
  • Multiple drains affected at the same time
  • Commercial kitchens with heavy grease build-up

When is water jetting the right solution?

Stubborn blockages that drain rods cannot shift
Grease and fat build-up in kitchen and commercial drains
Root ingress that is partially blocking the pipe
Recurring blockages that keep coming back
Silt and sediment accumulation reducing pipe capacity
Planned maintenance to keep drains flowing freely

How Draincore carries out water jetting

Our engineer will assess the drain and select the appropriate jetting nozzle and pressure for the pipe type and blockage. The jetting hose is fed into the drain and the high-pressure water breaks up the obstruction and flushes it through the system.

After jetting, we check the drain is flowing freely. Where appropriate, we may recommend a CCTV survey to confirm the pipe is clear and identify any underlying issues.

Clears the full bore

Water jetting removes the build-up from the pipe walls, not just the immediate blockage, reducing the chance of it returning.

Suitable for most pipes

Safe for clay, plastic and concrete drainage pipes when carried out by a trained engineer with the right equipment.

★★★★★
"Fantastic service from the team at Draincore. We called them out for an emergency to unblock a waste pipe at our property in Colchester, and they cleared it quickly and efficiently. Because they did such a great job, we also used them to run a full drainage camera report to check the health of our underground drainage that we have had issues with at another property. They were professional, and could identify the problems fast. Highly recommend their drainage services if you are in the local area!"

Water jetting — frequently asked questions

Is high-pressure water jetting safe for my pipes?

Yes, when carried out by a trained engineer using the correct pressure settings. Draincore assesses the pipe type before jetting to ensure the right approach is used.

How is water jetting different from drain rods?

Drain rods physically push a blockage through the pipe. Water jetting uses high-pressure water to break up and flush away the blockage and the build-up on the pipe walls, giving a more thorough result.

Will water jetting fix a recurring blockage?

In many cases, yes — because it removes the underlying build-up rather than just clearing the immediate obstruction. If the blockage keeps returning, a CCTV survey can identify whether there is a structural problem.

Do you carry out water jetting for commercial premises?

Yes. We work with commercial kitchens, restaurants, offices and industrial sites. Regular jetting can be part of a planned maintenance programme to prevent blockages.

How much does water jetting cost?

Pricing depends on the job. Call us on 01206 671619 for a clear quote before any work begins.
